Privacy Policy

The Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station is owned and operated by Arizona Public Service Company (“APS,” “we,” or “us”).  We have created this privacy policy to communicate our practices regarding the use of the information gathered on paloverde.com ("Site"), and the measures we take to protect the privacy of the information. Your continued use of this Site means you accept the terms of this Privacy Policy ("Policy"). This Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflicts of laws rules. 

This Policy does not apply to information that we collect on any of our other websites or about our residential energy customers. For information about our privacy practices with respect to those websites, please visit the applicable website privacy policy.   1. What Information Do We Collect?

In short: We collect any information that you provide to us on the Site. Also, some information, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics, is collected automatically when you visit our Site. 

We collect information you choose to provide to us through the Site, such as your name, email address and/or phone number if you seek to communicate with us via email or phone.

We may also automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Site through cookies and similar technologies. A cookie is a small data file that is written to your device’s hard drive when you visit a website. We use "cookies" on some of the pages on this Site.  You are always free to decline our cookies if your browser permits, but you may not be able to use certain features on our Site or may be required to re-enter information more frequently during your session.   • Log and Usage Data. In short: We process your information for legitimate business purposes, for compliance with our legal obligations or other legal purposes, and/or with your consent.

We use the information we collect to assist us in providing you with information, to perform analytics and evaluate the effectiveness of our Site, to maintain and improve the Site, to communicate with you about the Site or our products and services, or for other legitimate business purposes.

We may also use the information we collect to comply with applicable laws and any corporate reporting obligations, prevent fraud or other illegal activities, enforce the Site’s Terms of Use or other agreements we have with you, or to otherwise defend our rights or the rights of others.

We may also share information with a parent company, subsidiaries, joint ventures, or other companies under common control with us or in connection with a merger, acquisition, consolidation, change of control, or sale of all or a portion of our assets or business, or if we undergo bankruptcy or liquidation.

We may on occasion use and share deidentified or aggregated information for demographics, statistics, or comparisons.

  1. How Do Third Parties Collect Information on the Site?

Some content or applications on the Sites may be provided by third parties, including advertising companies, ad networks and servers, analytics companies, and application providers. These third parties may use cookies or other tracking technologies to collect information, potentially including personal information, about your activities over time and across different websites when you use our Sites. Those third parties may provide APS with data collection, reporting, ad response measurement, analytical information, and assist with delivery of relevant marketing messages and advertisements. The tracking technologies may also allow the third parties to deliver targeted advertisements of our products and services on other websites or on social media networks and gauge their effectiveness.

This Site contains links to other websites that are not operated or controlled by us ("Third Party Sites"). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of Third Party Sites.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we determine that a child under 13 has provided personal information to us in violation of this Policy, we will delete that information as soon as practical. If you become aware that such information has been provided to us by a child under 13, please use the contact information below to submit a request to delete the information.

In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.

We strive to make this is a secure Site by implementing an information security program that contains administrative, technical, and physical controls. But, information transmitted via e-mail is not secure or encrypted. Also, it may be possible for an unauthorized person to gain access to your information notwithstanding our use of security measures. Therefore, please note that you enter information in this Site and communicate via e-mail at your own risk.
